What to Do When Our Country’s Spiritual Foundations are Shaken

by Foothills Church on October 11, 2020

Pastor Dave taught on “What to Do When the Foundations are Shaken” from Psalm 11. His 4th point was “God blesses the upright and judges the wicked.” In this lesson we’ll dig deeper into the facts about what the Bible says regarding God’s current judgments on the earth and every Christian’s appearance before the judgment seat of Christ.

A lot of Christians are squeamish about judgment. It makes them uncomfortable to think about God’s wrath. But read Acts 10:42. Peter was explaining the gospel to unbelievers. Why do you suppose modern Christians are usually reluctant to follow Peter’s example?

God never hides the fact that He is the Judge of the whole earth and that He fully intends to punish sin and reward righteousness: Read Genesis 18:25b, Psalm 1:5-6, Isaiah 11:4. God rewards the righteous and punishes the wicked. It’s been said, “you can’t have one without the other.” What do you suppose that means?
