This is a 10-week journey through John Eldredge’s sequel to Wild at Heart. In Fathered by God Eldredge presents the Masculine Journey as six stages of development in the life of a man.
Each week we’ll watch a video in which John and his Band of Brothers discuss how God has fathered them. Then it’s our turn. As we discuss each of the stages we’ll discover our Father’s original design for us, how it affects a man in later life when God’s plan has been short circuited (the father-wound), and how He wants to give back to us what He always wanted us to have, even if it is years past our boyhood.
As you go through this study you’ll find yourself saying, “So that’s why I get so angry," or, “No wonder I go overboard with my collections.” You’ll come away from this class understanding what God meant you to be and what He’s up to in your life. You’ll also come to a clearer understanding of how to be a father to your children and what they need from you beyond discipline.
