Lessons from the Raising of Lazarus

In the sermon, Pastor Dave pointed out that situations are not always what they seem. What looks like a disaster can be something entirely different from God’s perspective. And what looks wonderful can be a disaster. Appearances can be deceiving unless you have God’s perspective. In this lesson we’ll dig deeper into how to God wants to give us His perspective on life, the universe, and everything and how we can cooperate in the process.

 

 

The key to seeing the world and your life circumstances from God’s perspective: we must learn to value what God values and reject the things He considers worthless.

 

Read Psalm 4:2-3 then finish this sentence: If you love what is _____________, God cannot set you apart for Himself and cannot grant your prayers.

 

Read Jesus’ words in John 6:63. What does Jesus dismiss out of hand? What does Jesus insist is of greatest value in life?

 

Read Jesus’ words in Matthew 13:12. Jesus said that if you possess this particular something, you will gain more, but if you only have a little of this something, it will be taken away! How do you suppose that works? What could Jesus be talking about? The mysterious answer will encourage you!
